6am. 45 minute run. No turkeys.
Breakfast.
On the bikes for an EZ ride. The first 25 minutes could best be described as not pedalling. Then we form a paceline and we're rolling pretty good.
The group decides that any hill should be conquered with 450 watts of "EZ" power. The intensity zone within which 450 watts falls is not called Easy for me. Brian Haas refers to it as "Ape Shit" I think. I back off and catch back on after the climbs a few times then I see the 2K line which means (multiple choice quiz for the reader follows):
A. Do your best to put out 2000 watts of power
B. 2K to a sprint line
C. Both
If you guessed B or C you're right. The hammer goes down and I resign myself to being the nail. Gordo takes the sprint.
We more or less break into smaller groups to finish up the EZ ride.
A snack and a change of clothes and I'm off to the pool for a swim. The workout for me is 250 Easy. 10 x (100 IM / 150 Free). 400 done as Free IM by 100. I get out of the pool only to find out others are swimming more. I'm not just going to sit there so I throw in 1000 more. Done and dun. That's 4150.
Lunch and then we're on our own for the rest of the day.
